Bob inspecting seedlings in his Bio Dome

Today we say farewell to one of our finest.
Mr Bob Hill has been a horticulturist at Park Seed for 11 years. Many of you may have spoken with him if you called in to our customer service with questions about your plants and how to help them thrive.

We wish him the best on his new adventure called “retirement” and would like to share with you a few words from him & those that worked closest with him.

A poem written for Bob by his co-workers:

Bob’s Retirement

Bob Hill retires from Park Seed today,
Can his shoes be filled, it’s hard to say.
He treated our flowers with loving care,
Their beauty to others, you could not compare.

His job was very important you see,
Our customer’s satisfaction just had to be.
For eleven years he gave us his all,
If you needed his help, you just had to call.

He is our friend and we love him so,
Our hearts are broken to see him go.
Now, who will smile and flirt with us gals,
We knew it was harmless, we were his pals.

He’ll have more time to spend with Scruff,
And sleeping late will surely be rough.
He’ll paddle his boat and splash in the lake,
More fun than a normal retiree could take.

We love you a bunch and wish the best for you,
May God Bless you and keep you in all that you do.

Bob’s letter to the people he has supported for the last 11 years:

Before I leave today I want to salute each of you in Customer Service and say thanks for a “Job Well Done”

I was lucky to have the easy job-all I had to do was answer a few questions about plants or seeds  but you are expected to not only have some knowledge of hundreds of plants, seeds and accessories, but to also enter your  orders correctly and efficiently , possess knowledge of shipping dates, frost date, cut off dates, guarantee dates and to  explain and correct advertising and shipping errors and to do all this… with a smile on your face and in your voice.

You are called on to patiently listen as the customer vents his/her frustrations about their order and then are asked  to try to straighten things out and to salvage the customer and the order. Over the years  I have listened as each of you have done all this and have done it well and have done it  professionally.

I  have the upmost  respect for each of you and  for the job that I see each of you doing on a daily basis. I am proud that I was allowed to work with such a fine group of folks.

With  my thanks for the  ”Arkansas travel  gift”, the luncheon and all that you have done to make my last day at the Seed Company  a special one.

I close by asking God’s love and care for each of you and your family.

Bob

Bob, you truly were a blessing to this company and its customers. We wish you the best of luck and hope you will remember to come visit us!
